History
The Majlis was founded as a society in Cambridge in 1894, then 1896 in Oxford, as debating clubs for Hindustani (modern-day Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) students to interrogate the principles of imperialism.
The Majlis foundation is a charity, think tank and Forum that builds nations.
Majlis, مَجلِس: noun; an assembly, convivial meeting, congress, council; of Perso-Arabic origin.
The essence of this movement is Wisdom. Our conception of Wisdom is recognition of the overarching objective Truth in the temporal world. We hold Truth to be sacred and the ultimate Purpose of life being its pursuit. Indeed, Purpose itself is only found in holy Wisdom. All those searching for Purpose, Truth or Wisdom are thus united to one cause.

The Majlis was founded as a society in Cambridge in 1894, then 1896 in Oxford, as debating clubs for Hindustani (modern-day Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) students to interrogate the principles of imperialism.
Through dialectics, debates, public addresses, and the exchange of networks and ideas, The Majlis goes beyond theory in these arenas and formulates thought through our rich intellectual tradition that discovers wisdom independently of all existing paradigms.
The Majlis overarches an eclecticism of projects, drawing from its network of individuals, organisations and institutions.
Below is a sample of the projects we currently have in incubation, with many more on the way.
